One of the quiet joys of my work is getting to see the same families year after year, to see how they’ve grown and shifted. This family has been in front of my camera many times over the years, and recently, I had the honor of photographing them as they welcomed this new little love.
When I’m with a family I’ve photographed before, there’s a rhythm that settles in. They know me, I know them, and that knowing makes room for more ease, more honesty, and more noticing.
Of course, I always notice the little details. That’s such a big part of what I do. But when I already know a family’s story, those little details carry more weight. They’re not just sweet moments, they’re stitches in a quilt that I’ve watched come together.
It’s such a gift to get to keep telling that story, one square at a time.
