Safe Haven: Where families feel supported, understood, and empowered.

Last year, Safe Haven Chiropractic asked me to take branding photos during some of their pediatric, prenatal, and postpartum sessions in their bright, beautifully, and thoughtfully decorated space.

As I was revisiting some of these images, I thought I would reach out to Dr. Khan with some questions about Safe Haven and the services they offer, to bring some awareness to anyone who might find it helpful! I personally did not grow up with chiropractic care in my home and was so excited to get a glimpse into this particularly gentle form of care (and then call Dr. Khan for sessions for myself afterward)!

I’m so glad you had a chance to see the gentle, specialized care we provide firsthand. I’d love to answer your questions and share more about what we do.

Is the way you approach pediatric chiropractic care different from motherhood chiropractic care?

Yes, while both focus on gentle, specific care, they are tailored to the unique needs of each stage of life. Pediatric chiropractic care is centered around supporting proper nervous system function, developmental milestones, and overall well-being from infancy through childhood. Motherhood chiropractic care focuses on the structural and hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy and postpartum, helping to create balance, reduce discomfort, and support recovery.

How can chiropractic care help during pregnancy? Postpartum?

During pregnancy, chiropractic care can help with pelvic alignment, reducing discomfort, optimizing fetal positioning, and supporting an easier birth experience. Postpartum, it aids in recovery by addressing misalignments from labor and delivery, supporting core and pelvic floor function, and easing the physical demands of caring for a newborn.

What are the most common reasons parents bring their babies in?

Parents often bring their babies in for concerns such as difficulty nursing, head preference (favoring one side), tension from birth, colic, reflux, and torticollis. Chiropractic care helps support their nervous system and allows for better mobility, comfort, and function.

What kind of issues can chiropractic care help with for elementary school-aged kids?

For elementary-aged kids, chiropractic care supports healthy posture, alleviates growing pains and headaches, enhances coordination and focus, and promotes proper integration of primitive reflexes. It can also be beneficial for children experiencing frequent ear infections, sensory processing challenges, or developmental delays related to retained reflexes.

I certainly felt a really warm vibe in your office and felt a sense of community with your patients — what do you attribute to that welcoming atmosphere?

That truly means so much! My goal with Safe Haven was to create a space where families feel supported, understood, and empowered. From the way we designed our space to the way we approach care, we want every visit to feel like a positive and uplifting experience. I also believe in taking time to educate and connect with each patient, which helps foster a real sense of trust and community. Additionally, I collaborate closely with other providers—including lactation consultants, pediatric dentists, and other specialists—to ensure parents get the best results possible for their child’s health and development.

As a board-certified pediatric and prenatal chiropractor, I am passionate about providing specialized care tailored to the unique needs of growing families.

Thank you again for your thoughtful questions and for helping share what we do. I’d love to stay connected, and I appreciate you helping bring awareness to Safe Haven!
