Newborn Hospital Session: Baby V
There is a distinct feeling in hospital rooms where a new baby is being held (by visitors, by mommy, by daddy). It’s a mixture of excitement and exhaustion, sleepiness and sleeplessness. Allie and Ryan are seasoned parents; so in this room, what was missing was confusion and a hidden streak of chaos. Rooms with newborns, for me, always feel bright and blurry. And something about seeing a sleeping newborn, and the incredible energy that it takes them just to open their eyes, makes me want to cozy up and nap.
Baby V wasn’t even 24 hours old when I visited her Loudoun hospital room. She slept most of the time, opening her eyes for just a few seconds during my stay. I can’t wait to visit with this family again (and big sister W) next week for an in-home session.
