Oh hey! First of all—YAY! If you’re reading this because you’ve decided we’re a good fit and have sent me the “let’s do this” email, I’m doing a big happy dance over here. It means so much to me when someone invites me into their world, whether to capture a Sunday morning at home with your wild ones, a cozy branding shoot that tells your story, or an intimate wedding with just your closest loves.
i. While you’re making your decision
If you’re here prior to your making your decision, I’m very forthcoming about myself and my approach, but I’m so happy to answer any questions you might have while we chat. If there is anything that is making you anxious about hiring a photographer, if there is anything special about your family that you think would be helpful for me to know beforehand or that you want to make sure I’m aware of while I photograph your family, I would love to hear this now.
If you’re wondering what comes next, I’ve got you covered. Here are the steps we’ll take after you say, “Let’s do this!”
ii. The details
We’ll decide together on the best location and timing for our session! I will ask many questions about locations that may mean something to you, if there are any naptimes that we might want to plan around, etc.
iii. The contract
I’ll ask for information I need to send your proposal along (address, email address, names for waivers/releases, etc.). Your proposal will include the quote that we discussed, the schedule, as well as our contract. Everything can be completed online, including payment. I am never ever pressuring you or rushing, but please know that until you sign your contract, our time slot isn’t officially on my calendar… and I’d love for it to be there, in bright permanent marker!
And then you’re on my calendar!
iv. The continued discussion
If I’m photographing your family, I’ll help you prep without overthinking (outfits, everything). If it’s a branding shoot, we’ll dig deep into your business journey, style, and message. And if you’re planning a small wedding or elopement? I’ll be your calm in the chaos.
Please let me know if there is something specific you feel needs extra attention. Text me those outfits, tell me the life story that leads you to a crossroads between two locations.
v. Our session
This is the easy part—you show up as yourselves. Truly. My sessions are about connection, not perfection (read my reviews/testimonials if you want proof of this!). We’ll laugh, maybe get a little messy (but I try to save any potential messy areas for the end), and create something honest and beautiful together. I’ll gently guide you where needed, but mostly I’m just following your lead and making space for the magic.
vi. Sneak peek
I try to send a couple of sneak peek images within a few days after our time together.
vii. Final gallery
My contract gives me 2 weeks (minis/headshots) or 4 weeks to deliver your password-protected gallery. You’ll be able to select the images to include in your collection as well as any additional items or upgrades you’d like to order.
