Fairfax, VA Backyard Wedding: F&J

I feel like in life, there’s this soundtrack of feelings … or maybe, an actual soundtrack. Does anyone else associate certain songs with certain seasons of life? Anyway. I’ve known F for so many years, now. She played a huge part in the beginning of my being a parent, and in the beginning of our first baby’s life, but mostly, she’s been one of the greatest friends. She’s seen me through many tracks. And I feel that when she met J, her soundtrack became infinitely lighter, more melodic, and fuller. And it’s not that I don’t feel that her life was so purposeful and beautiful prior to J, because there was still beautiful music, but now it’s different, and the colors/feelings are just brighter.

Do I sound like a hippie? Whatever.

J is literally the nicest person I’ve ever met. Ever. They are both SO lucky. They are balanced. They have this thing figured out.

This wedding was in F’s dear friend’s back yard. There were string lights. There was a fire pit. There were flowers blooming everywhere. Dinner was tacos from Taco Bamba. Dessert, donuts from Sugar Shack.

“Now the highlight of the wedding. Tacos!”

I’m so #blessed to have been a part of this. OH, the icing on the cake (which is that fun photo of J below, celebrating): The Capitals won the game that day.
