Burke, VA | Newborn Lifestyle Session: Worth the Wait

That is the line I will always remember about this session. “Worth the wait.” Mom and dad got the call that their son, Baby A, was going to be born, and they left the state to meet him. I loved talking with them about the positive adoption experience they had (it made me feel so warm and that the world is good). I was so interested (and in a big way, maddened) to hear about how adoptive parents have to answer questions that other parents never need to.

Their paralyzing looks of adoration at their son got me, and the hilarious exchanges between this lively couple had me laughing even when I got home. Without going into detail, an entire portion of the session reminded me of this meme:

I looked around the room at the decor that spoke of being patient, and continuing to try, all the inspirational words… every time I noticed something new, I made my ugly crying faces all over again.

They rushed to get this nursery ready for this guy, in just days, but they were ready and meant for him always.
